Greetings, fellow gerbils!
Hey there, it's Gerry here! As you may have gathered, I am a gerbil and this is a blog about my life on this planet. I appear to humans through a machine called the GerbilMaestro, which is an exact copy of my master. I control this machine and most of the time pretend to be my master in front of other humans.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog. Thanks a gerbillion!

Weekly News Round-Up #23: 17/03/2013

I think it's fair to say that the theme of fancy dress has made many appearances, but apart from that, we also have this season's colour trend report, along with an account of the most intense battle the week has seen. So, let's get on with it...

In Form time this week, ANT decided that we would play a game called 'Guess Where Everyone Will Be In 10 Years Time' (now, I think it's pretty self-explanatory, so I'm not gonna bother explaining it). ANT and Master both had similar futures in mind, which included owning a house and having a job. Meanwhile, Ruby considered going to the Moon and building stables for unicorns. Seems like we'll be spread all over the universe, eh? ANT had some rather abstract ideas for other members of the form, for example, a wig shop owner/tattoo artist...

I can't seem to recall how we got onto the topic of parties, but it sure resulted in us coming up with quite a few fun ideas. One idea was a Greek Mythology fancy dress party, and, if this was to happen, Wicks decided that she would go as Persephone. On the other hand, Ruby thought she'd make a good Medusa, and Master took a fancy to the idea of being a Fury. Another party idea was an Avengers/Superheroes fancy dress party. What party would you have?

Breaking News: ANT has spoken, and it has been officially announced that the colour of the season is...Robin Hood Green.

Wednesday lunchtime proved to be a challenging one as ArwaChihuahua and Wicks attempted to perform the seemingly impossible task of hi-5-ing eachother with both their feet.

It may seem that the two of them are getting along just perfectly, however, later on in the week, ANT had to resort to creating a barrier in the style of 'The Way of the Warrior' to stop the two of them from attacking eachother.

This has been quite an important week in Wicks' life as she has discovered a new talent, which will result in her name being 'Wicks: Wasp Whisperer' for the rest of eternity. Read the full story here.

As many of you will already know, Friday was Red Nose Day, which obviously called for all senior students to attend school in fancy dress.
Here are a few characters that we spooted on the day: Batman, Bane, a banana, Superman, a Transformer, a sumo, a guy with a sombrero (classic), Ginny Weasley (?), a lion, and 2 Captain America's.
We also came up with some costume ideas for when we become senior students: a lunchbox theme (all dress up as food), a pencil case theme (all dress up as different stationery), the Avengers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Power Rangers, or Transformers.
Who would you dress up as?

Mini-discussion of the week: Would you eat something off a floor, that you didn't know what had been on it previously, or your kitchen waste bin? Discuss.

After a borderline average week, in terms of work load, ANT and Master decided to finish the week with some real brain-boggling stuff in their Period 6 German lesson. They were in the computer suite and just happened to be doing word searches on a Languages website. They thought it would be more interesting if they raced eachother, but when it came to the last wordsearch that they did, the competition truly heated up. Both had one word left that they were struggling to find (the word was 'geldautomat', if you were wondering). Master found it first on her word search, and then afterwards tried to find it on ANT's. At the end of they day, after trying every word search technique they could think of, they didn't find it. I think it's fair to say that it drained them of all their brain power and left them teary-eyed from staring at computer screens for so long (it was so intense it almost reminds of Squares). And the mystery remains unsolved!

Until next week, have a good one :)
