Greetings, fellow gerbils!
Hey there, it's Gerry here! As you may have gathered, I am a gerbil and this is a blog about my life on this planet. I appear to humans through a machine called the GerbilMaestro, which is an exact copy of my master. I control this machine and most of the time pretend to be my master in front of other humans.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog. Thanks a gerbillion!

Weekly News Round-Up #61: 11/05/2014
Hello everyone! Hope you're all doing alright. As exam season dawns on us, this will probably be the last WNR for a few weeks. We'll see. But don't forget, we've still got plenty going on in the coming weeks, especially with Exam Quote Month all scheduled and ready to go!
So we started on a Tuesday this week. ConscienceSarah created a new game named 'Twist the String'. Let me tell you now, if you're ever invited to play, do NOT take up the offer. This game is not fun, it's destructive. It requires 2 players getting a piece of string around 70cm (around 27.5 inches). Players each take an end and on the word 'go' they attempt to single-handedly twist the string around their index finger. This continues until they meet in the middle, at that point it's just a big game of tug of war. As you can imagine, the string does temporarily cut off blood circulation. Don't try this at home, kids.
On Wednesday, we presented ConscienceSarah with her birthday presents. She was most pleased with her Hufflepuff pen and badger device case. Later on that lunchtime, Wicks knighted Sharah with the pen whilst Master filmed the ceremony.
There was a particular point of discussion where we questioned whether the bear featured on the gift bag should be called Tedmund or Nedmund...
Thursday saw a particularly odd incident in our Maths class. It all started when Master was a few minutes late to lesson, due to a meeting. Sharah felt the need to fill the chair next to her. Upon spotting that there was a balloon in the room, she propped the balloon up in her coat, which was laid across Master's chair, thus creating 'Balloon Jen'. I must admit that it was a rather startling sight for Master to walk into class and find this balloon imposter. Afterwards, Sharah drew a face on the balloon and claimed that it bore a remarkable likeness to Master. The balloon also had 'Happy Birthday' writted on it, which lead to Master commenting sarcastically that she has the exact same tattoo on the back of her head. In the end, Master popped the balloon, reasoning that she did it to 'prevent further disruptions and balloon troubles.'
That same Maths lesson, Sharah drew a bear/sheep (slightly ambiguous) which appeared to be attached to a propeller, which Master joked was powered by Ryan's theoretical infinite power motor. Sharah proved to be all about the pictures that day when she drew a tree diagram (literally a tree) which featured a hippogriff hovering above it.
Well what an interesting week it's been!
Until next time, have a good one ;)

Master clearly didn't have her facts straight that day.
What she was aiming to achieve was the saying, 'find a penny, pick it up and all the day you'll have good luck. Give your penny to a friend and your luck will never end.' Not sure if it works for a tuppence though...
Special thanks to Wicks for providing the full saying :)
Note: A tuppence is 2 pence.

Weekly News Round-Up #60: 04/05/2014
Hello, one and all! I hope you've all had a fantastic week, ours has been pretty busy with exam season catching up to us. But, nevertheless, there was still time for fun. Let's recount some of those highlights...
Near the beginning of the week, DisneyLoverMolly initiated the bottle game, where players slide a bottle to eachother across the table. The aim is the slide without the bottle toppling over. This did escalate rather rapidly, with the slides becoming more and more forceful until contestants dropped out one by one. All in all, it was fun while it lasted :)
In other game news, Wicks introduced Master to a slight variation of the popular primary school aural activity, 'Simon Says'. This new version features not one, but two people 'saying' commands. It just so happens that we have the most fitting people to use as examples: Simon Wicks and ConscienceSarah. Both Simon and Sharah will be giving commands. If it's Simon, you just go with the standard game protocol. Meanwhile, if it's Sharah, you do the opposite of the usual. Let's summarise:
In the event of:
- Simon saying a command that starts with 'Simon says...' = players perform command
- Simon saying a command that does not start with 'Simon says...' = players ignore command
- Sharah saying a command that starts with 'Sharah says...' = players ignore command
- Sharah saying a command that does not start with 'Sharah says...' = players perform command
Indeed, it is definitely a game to test your concentration...
Wednesday saw ConscienceSarah arriving, in the morning, in a state of confusion. She claimed to have heard a backwards doorbell (described as a 'dong ding', instead of the conventional 'ding dong') when she shut her front door. How curious...
[Remember, honey badgers are vey smart animals. Could it be possible that they have acquired enough knowledge to tinker with Sharah's doorbell?]
To end what seems to have been a very Sharah week, we'll leave you with this masterpiece:
'Sharah', by Oscar.
Created in 'Paint'.
Photographed by Simon Wicks, via Snapchat on Master's iPod 'HECTOR'.
Also, May the Fourth be with you.
Until next week, have a good one ;)

MouseMouseMonday #32 - Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Hello everyone!
Today I'm gonna be reviewing the latest Marvel movie (at the time of writing, 05/05/2014), 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier'.
I went to see this on Tuesday 8th April (4 days after the initial release) but it's taken me so long to get this review out because I wanted to wait and see how my thoughts on it would change over a period of time. Also, during the past month, we've had official newsof a third Cap. movie, dur for release on 6th May, 2016. Now, before I get carried away on what could happen in the future, let's talk about the current movie.
As part of Marvel's Phase 2 stage of developing their cinematic universe, the events in Cap. 2 come after 'The Avengers'. Even though I tried my hardest not to over-analyse the trailer and read anything with possible spoilers, I was aware of the hype around this, with critics claiming that it is "even better than The Avengers". I don't know about you, but I think that's a pretty serious claim to make, which consequently got me thinking, 'what have Marvel done this time to top their success with The Avengers?'

Weekly News Round-Up #59: 27/04/2014
Hey guys, wassup my home dawgs?!! This week's opening line was inspired by the one and only ConscienceSarah, whose birthday was just this Monday. It was great to hear that she'd had a wonderful time :)
Tuesday saw a bunch of us, namely Wicks, ANT, Ruby, DisneyLoverMolly and Master, having a conversation and generally catching up with eachother on Skype. One rather notable feature of the call was the background noise coming from ANT's end of the line. It sounded very much like she was being abducted by aliens, with plenty of teleportation sound effects every once in a while. What was strange was that ANT claimed that everything was quiet at her house and she could not hear any of the reported sounds.
During the chat, Wicks shared with us an advert that particularly impressed her. Take a look:

Wednesday was the first official day back at the Academy. It was wonderful to see everyone again, but one of the highlights of the day was when we presented ConscienceSarah with her birthday card. The card and enjelope (no, that is not a typo, we shall now refer to envelopes as enjelopes) were both made by DisneyLoverMolly, and let me just say hats off to DLM for making such a hilarious and brilliant card! It was signed by all relevant parties, including the honey badgers and the Weave Monster. The best part was definitely seeing the reaction on ConscienceSarah's face as she opened the enjelope and was delighted by the sight before her. Naturally, there was no better way to end that lunchtime other than treating ourselves to a slice of Sharah's birthday cake, made by Master. All in all, a jolly good time was had by all. Apart from ANT, who went home (well, whatta surprise).
That same afternoon, Ruby, Wicks and Master came across a rather interesting phenomenon, one that we have definitely seen before. They were on the computers when Wicks was trying to open a PDF document, however it was not compatible with the browser. But here's where the fun starts, the window that popped up was lagging, therefore, when dragged around the window, it would leave a trail. Perhaps you'll understand better with some pictorial evidence.
You see what I mean? Consequently, this reminded us of a previous occasion when this happened.
Hence, we posed the question, Loki'd or Adobe'd?
If you're keen on Loki'd, here's the site: http://you-were-made-to-be-lokid.tumblr.com/
Thursday saw Wicks and Master in matching olive green clothing. In other news, ConscienceSarah took off her watch during a study lesson, however kept looking at her watchless wrist for the time. Master was able to relate to this as she explained that she often finds herself trying to push up her spectacles even with she is not wearing them. As a result of this, she has to find a way of disguising her mistake in case anyone noticed her blunder.
Lunchtime was most eventful due to the addition of pisnachios (as Wicks likes to call them) to DisneyLoverMolly's lunch. Naturally, along with pistachios comes double the amount of waste, in the form of halves of a shell. Let me tell you now, there are so many different ways to entertain oneself with pistachio shells. We had a variety of pistachio-based games, including pistachio wars (with the shells as ammunition to be flicked across the table), pistachio towers (where the aim was to build the highest tower possible in a group. The first to knock over the tower loses, so it had some elements of Jenga) and creating artwork. Here are a few picks to help you imagine what it was like.
On Friday, we did some brain-storming as to what activities we can do during summer. I an in possession of quite an extensive list ranging from Spy Masters to segueing. There were, however, some activities that we had to rule out, for example, a trip to Big Sky, due to the fact that the majority of us are over the height limit. Never mind... ;p
