"ArwaChihuahua obviously drew the short straw."
- A.T.
Story behind quote:
Well whatta a surprise it was for us to see ArwaChihuahua and Wicks doing a spot of jousting. It happened that Wicks had the pole of a rounders base (which was a reasonably good weapon) and ArwaChihuahua had the base (which didn't serve to be a very good weapon). Here we have ANT's comment on the situation.

Greetings, fellow gerbils!
Hey there, it's Gerry here! As you may have gathered, I am a gerbil and this is a blog about my life on this planet. I appear to humans through a machine called the GerbilMaestro, which is an exact copy of my master. I control this machine and most of the time pretend to be my master in front of other humans.
I hope you enjoy reading my blog. Thanks a gerbillion!

Great Revision Quiz Report: Biology 2
Today we had our first Great Revision Quiz, hosted by the wonderful Wicks! This involved ANT, ArwaChihuahua, Ruby and Master answering quick-fire questions on all things Biology.
After there initially being a little bit of a situation with communication systems between ArwaChihuahua and the rest of the group, consequently meaning that she missed the first round, they had a very much productive session overall.
The results:
1st - 36 points - Master
2nd - 30 points - Ruby
3rd - 16 points - ANT
4th - 14 points - ArwaChihuahua
Carried over to the next revision quiz: 2 points - Wicks
Highlight of the session: Wicks' crazy-awesome-beautiful goat hat, which is now her revision trademark. Whatever the weather, Wicks will have that hat on.
Funny moment: The ever-present vacuum cleaner/whirring sound coming from ArwaChihuahua's side that varied in volume throughout the quiz.
Next time...
Wednesday. ArwaChihuahua. Ethics & Poetry. See you there.

Quote Week is just around the corner...
Don't forget to keep checking back all this week for brand new quotes!
Weekly News Round-Up #26: 21/04/2013
Well it's been a while, hasn't it? But thankfully we are here again with
another edition of Weekly News Round-Up...how exciting! Tell you what
else is exciting, today is ConscienceSarah's birthday! We all wish that
she has a wonderful day :) Expect there to be a post up later on in the
day regarding the end of result of the cake Master will make for the
occasion...
In other news, during the holidays, we all received our Boccia leadership certificates. The funniest thing was that ArwaChihuahua also got her's, even though she never handed in the paperwork... ;p
On to this week's events...
After returning to the Academy on Tuesday, we had quite an interesting week, filled with religion, blagging, and Maya and Miguel. Now that's what I call a range.
Tuesday's PE lesson saw us all playing a nice game of rounders. Surprisingly, it was a nice day, so sunny that ANT predicted that we would be standing in "sweltering heat" by the end of the session. Afterwards, Wicks and Master praised ANT for the tremendous use of the word 'sweltering'. Whatta great word.
It was predictable that ArwaChihuahua and Wicks had to have at least a little fight to kick off the term. It just happened that at the end of the PE lesson, when we had to pack up, Ruby noticed two figures, one with a pole (for a rounders base) and one with the base for the pole, jousting in the distance. At this point, Ruby turned to Master and asked, "Is that Wicks and ArwaChihuahua?" And, you guessed right, it was.
At lunchtime, ANT and Master had a go at playing the Sherlock Holmes Game (perhaps a more analytical version of the People Game), where they analysed people who happened to be walking by and tried to determine everything about them. Yes, it's highly judgemental, but it's just a bitta fun and we don't take it seriously ;p
Wednesday morning saw us listening to a rather interesting assembly about the true meaning of Easter. The tagline of it was, 'Have you been saying Cadbury more than Christ?' Well there's a question for you all.
On that same day, Wicks saved ArwaChihuahua from falling and facing ultimate humiliation (sort of). I don't know about you, but I had my hopes up that this may have finally paid the blood debt between them, but I was wrong. When we asked ArwaChihuahua, the answer was simply 'no'.
One of the biggest stories of this week has been the possibility that Wadz may finally retire from blagging. After she attempted her personal record of 3 blags in a day, she decided to end her craze. But will her resolution last? We'll keep you posted.
Thursday morning was not a very forgiving one in terms of weather. Most of us walked in with sand in our mouths and eyes from the harsh winds. But to lighten up the mood, Wicks experimented with substituting different names into the Maya and Miguel theme song. Fun times :)
At lunchtime, ANT explained one of her brother's ways to annoy her. I'll tell you now, if you ever see it, it's hilarious! Whenever she does anything remotely stupid, KrazyK, ANT's bro, likes to alternate between clap continuously or doing thumbs up to her face, whilst shouting things along the lines of 'nice one, mate!' or 'good one!' I'd be lying if I said that I'm not considering using this method every once in a while ;)
Friday was a perculiar day, to say the least. There was a Brian Cox look-a-like walking around at breaktime, which never failed to amaze and amuse us.
It seems that the 'too many Griswalds' case has cropped up again, but this time, Wicks, Ruby and Master have found 4 confirmed John Snow's and one part-time John Snow (we imagine that he likes to be called John in his free time). I guess it's not that strange that people should share the same name, but it's still cool!?
To draw this week's Round-Up to an end, Master would like to give a shout-out to Wicks for the wonderful gift of Minecraft (for Master's birthday)! Thank you!
Until next week, have a good one :)

Something to kick off the weekend...
Freshly released, let's take a look at the Thor 2 trailer (I'm sure Wicks is barely containing her excitement):
Now, I've gotta say that I'm pretty intrigued by that last scene with Loki, hmmm...interesting.
What are your thoughts? Comment below :)

Wicks' Wonderful Reversible Card!
On the first day back at the Academy after the holidays, Wicks presented Master with a wonderful birthday card that was very cleverly made...
You see, when folded, it is in fact a 2-in-1 card depending on which way you look at it! I must say that I love the spectacular illustrations and the quotes were simply classic!
Thank you, Wicks!

Thank you!
Hey guys!
So, today's my birthday and, gosh, am I a lucky human! Here, I'm gonna do a round-up of all the wonderful events of the day...
At 09:16 in the morning, I get a text from Mexx telling me to go over to her's at 11:00. When the time comes and I arrive, I had no idea that everyone was there already! It was such a lovely surprise :)
[Note: By 'everyone', I mean Mexx, Stas, Wadz, ArwaChihuahua, Ruby and the Beckster. ANT arrived later.]
During the day, we had pizza (we experimented with hot and cold pizza and I think the group is pretty much split on which is better) and then proceeded to try out some of the cakes that people brought.
But before we get onto the cake, some cards were opened and presents unwrapped.
The first card that I read was from Wadz. It was hand-made and frankly hilarious, with a poem on the front and several illustrations of Voldemort and Nagini (dressed, in a bowler hat, as Edgar Allen Poe) inside and on the back. Some of my favourite jokes were 'hugs and kisses' (imagine the way Voldemort starts saying Avada Kedavra, and transfer that to the way you say 'hugs' in 'hugs and kisses') and also a sketch of Nagini as a bartender. Based on when Voldemort commands Nagini to kill Snape ("Nagini...kill."), this time it was "Nagini...bill!" Take a look...
Here's a selection of some of the wonderful presents that I got:
On the right, in this photo, there's the wonderful rose-scented candles and the beautiful light holder, which are both from the Beckster. It has to be said that the Beckster gives the most creative of gifts, so when we asked her where she gets all these lovely things from, her reply was that she loves the garden centre. So there you have it, the garden centre is the place to be!
You can also see some pretty bath products on the right, which are from Mexx. In case you were wondering, those also smell like roses. It's like they planned it!
So, let's talk cakes...
The first of many cakes that we tried was Stas' brownies, which can be seen in the photo on the left along with a selection of cupcakes by ArwaChihuahua. You are probably thinking, 'Why is there only one in the photo?' Well, the answer is that we ate most of them and this was the only one left. (In case you were wondering, most of these photos were taken after the gathering.)
So, onto the actual brownie, this tasted exquisite, with pieces of walnut and chocoloate. I think that the Beckster would agree with me that it was a little crumbly, so we ended up going outside to shake it out and, in Ruby's case, crumble to our hearts' content. [Quote: "I just want to go outside and crumble." - Ruby]
Next, we admired Ruby's home-made cake pops. I think it's fair to say that we found it amazing that she has a machine specifically designed to make these (how nifty). Props to whoever invented cake pops and the machine to make them in.
Note to all who value chronology: By this time, ANT had just arrived.
Along with her, ANT brought perhaps the most colourful item of the whole day, so feast your eyes on it below:
Now, the first time that everyone saw this, we were all mind-blown. Featuring the Hulk (top), a snail with a sunshine-yellow shell (bottom), boccia balls (right) and daisies, photos of this creation were almost immediately posted on several social media sites, including Wadz's Instagram (along with the post, we went pretty crazy hashtagging a couple things: #birthday #hulk #smash #BOCCIA). During the course of the gathering, the picture competed with Wadz's picture of some artistically arranged boxes, which has her highest number of 'likes': 9. By the end of the gathering, it became official that the pic of the cake paralleled Wadz's box pic, both with 9 'likes'. We'll keep you posted if it reaches a new record...
So, after seeing this cake, you're probably wondering how on Earth ANT managed to draw the Hulk onto it. Well, funnily enough, we thought the same thing, so we decided to ask. Needless to say, the reply we got was a classic: "I just Googled a picture of the Hulk." - ANT. It's funny that everyone was expecting a whole design and production process, but no, ANT simply said that she went ahead and drew it on, free-hand. Skills.
In other behind-the-scenes news, close contenders of the caption on the cake were, 'Have a smashin' day!' and plenty more from the same Hulk semantic field.
We managed to finish the whole cake, with many of us taking away pieces, including Ruby, who took a slice for Wicks, who unfortunately was not able to attend. One thing that should be noted before eating this is that it contains a fair amount of sugar and you are pretty much guaranteed to be on a sugar high for the following couple of hours upon ingestion.
Onto less sugary things, we tried out some cookies made by Mexx. This was perhaps the more sensible option, instead of ANT's hyper sugar cake, which the Beckster, Ruby and Wadz gladly took. I think it's fair to say that the cookies were received rather well.
Whilst on the topic of cakes, I'd like to thank ConscienceSarah for these wonderful fairy cakes that she gave me before the end of term. They were simply charming :)
So, I think this is where the post comes to an end.
Thank you to everyone for making this the best birthday ever! It truly means a lot to have such wonderful friends like you :)
Until next time,
- Master

Hello there! What a fabulous week it has been :)
This week, Master had an interview on Tuesday. ANT seemed to perceive that this school had such a large decline rate that they needed a stamp that said 'DECLINE' in capitals.
We discussed the different reasons why you might possibly get declined. If it says that you learn an extra language on your CV, maybe they'll try to put you off by asking you questions in that language. And if you stutter, that's a 'DECLINE', my friend. Perhaps if you use an informal greeting when you are expected to speak formally it will be a 'DECLINE'?
Thankfully none of that happened on the day :)
I'm not sure if it's just me, but it seems that this week in particular has been quite surprising. Upon returning from the interview, the usually expressionless receptionists were trying to be humourous. For a reason(s) that I do not know, Wadz was remixing The Beatles at lunchtime. And to top it off, Ruby and Wicks tried on a pair of Yorkshire accents, complete with t-ing (phonetic sound of 't').
It has to be noted that Master has been missing quite a few lunchtimes this week due to extra work. On a particular day, Master had a 3-scoop music day, where she went in to music 3 times.
But the lunchtimes that Master was there for, we witnessed the follow-up to ArwaChihuahua's yogurt incident from last week. This week it was a crisp packet that she managed to burst. There seems to be a recurring trend in incidents that lead to the conclusion that ArwaChihuahua has issues with opening any sort of packaging.
This week's debate was on the pronunciation of the word 'creme', frequently used as the name of the 'Creme Egg'. Do you say it as [cr-eem] or [crem]? Because, in theory, it should be the latter. It's like the word 'mentos'. Do you say [men-toes] or [men-toss]?
Further on in the week, we witnessed a bunch of kids racing to climb the wall where we hang out at lunch. It was indeed rather amusing watching them, especially when they failed and tried to blow it off as doing something else. At one point we even commentated for afar.
In other lunchtime news, Wadz got rather annoyed at ANT's inability to differentiate between a raisin and a blackcurrant.
This week has also seen Wadz and Master in the funniest Geography lesson ever. It happened that no one could remember what a certain individual said, which resulted in that individual having to repeat themself at least 10 times, minimum.
But the highlight of the week is, without a doubt, egg rolling! They put the plan into action on Friday and painted at rolled/smashed some eggs. It was a day of immense fun, ANT only having one glove and the fact that everyone was in awe of the towel hanging technology in Wicks' bathroom. Read all about it in the egg rolling report.
Until next week, have a good one :)

Until next week, have a good one :)
